1. The “Handbook for Flower Shows”, 1997, Revised Edition, will be the Club’s guide for all exhibits.

2. Flowers and other materials need not be grown by the exhibitor.

3. All designs must be made and staged by the exhibitor.

4. All exhibits must be in place by 11:30 a.m. unless otherwise designated.

5. Plant material may be fresh and/or dried. Only dried material may be treated, i.e., painted, dyed, waxed, etc. No artificial plant material is permitted.

6. Accessories may be used.

7. Backgrounds may be used.

8. All materials used must be listed.

9. The decision of the judges is final.

 

Members are encouraged to study the Design and Horticulture Exhibiting display boards on view at most meetings. Also, the library has many good books on Floral Design which can be most helpful.

September 28, 2009

Design: “Bringing Nature Home” a natural arrangement. May incorporate dried material, i.e., pods, seed heads, decorative wood, mosses, lichens.

October 26, 2009

Design: “Ode to Fall” design should include twigs, branches and flowers featuring colors of fall

November 23, 2009

Design: “A Bountiful Harvest” - any design style, an arrangement incorporating fruits and/or vegetables, flowers and foliage

December 14, 2009


There will be no regular meeting this month as we are meeting for a Luncheon at a local restaurant.

January 26, 2010

Design: “Snow Time” an arrangement using winter’s greenery and snow white flowers (silver/frosty accessories optional).

February 22, 2010

Design: “Be My Valentine” - a small design, no more than 8” in height, width and depth. May be any desig.

March 22, 2010

Design: “Bend Me, Shape Me” a topiary design using fresh plant materials (topiary form may be of non-plant material).


April 26, 2010

Design: “Beautiful Gifts” a gift box for any occasion decorated with flowers and/or foliage (fresh plant material only).
