1. The “Handbook for Flower Shows”, 1997, Revised Edition, will be the Club’s guide for all exhibits.

2. Flowers and other materials need not be grown by the exhibitor.

3. All designs must be made and staged by the exhibitor.

4. All exhibits must be in place by 11:30 a.m. unless otherwise designated.

5. Plant material may be fresh and/or dried. Only dried material may be treated, i.e., painted, dyed, waxed, etc. No artificial plant material is permitted.

6. Accessories may be used.

7. Backgrounds may be used.

8. All materials used must be listed.

9. The decision of the judges is final.

 

Members are encouraged to study the Design and Horticulture Exhibiting display boards on view at most meetings. Also, the library has many good books on Floral Design which can be most helpful.

September 27, 2010

Design: “Waters Edge ~ A Summer Memory” : An arrangement using fresh flowers, seashells and sand, placed on a tray. Design to be viewed from three sides.

October 25, 2010

Design: “Down to Earth”– Create a fall arrangement using flowers, pinecones, branches, and/or leaves. Material may fresh or dried.

November 22, 2010

Design: “Recipe for Success” - A table centerpiece incorporating fresh flowers, fruits and/or vegetables. To be viewed from all sides.

December 13, 2010

There will be no regular meeting this month as we are meeting for a potluck luncheon at the library.

January 24, 2011

Design: “Ice Crystal” – A crescent design in a crystal.

February 28, 2011

Design: “Love is in the Air”– A design using fresh roses in an Ikebana style. .

March 28, 2011

Design: “Emerald Green” – An all-green Hogarth curve design using leaves, shrubs & flowers. May be accented with gold, silver or white. Materials may be fresh or dried.


April 25, 2011

Design: “Seeds are in Fashion”– Design a piece of jewelry using all dried materials – seeds, pods, branches, etc.
